This series of works are part of an ongoing project where the artist attempts to collaborate with different fabricators in the industrial neighbourhood of Wong Chuk Hang, mostly upholsterers and carpenters.

The premise of the works is the resin cast of a piece of styrofoam packaging — this object which is usually created to fit the design of another object in order to protect it, becomes the departure point for the creation of a sculptural structure.
The resin cast is delivered to the collaborator which is asked to “fill” it with remains of his own work or/and prime materials.

Thus by inverting the usage of a discarded object, and inverting the labour of someone who’s role is usually to fix precarious furniture with no creative input, nourishes and potentiates a certain freedom through the usage of minimal restrains.
